Kelly

Kelly began working as a Skills and Simulation Technician in 2016 and took on the role as Technical Demonstrator and line manager for a team of three Skills and Simulation Technicians in 2018 (The Skills Acquisition and Simulation Team at the Uxbridge campus).

Kelly’s passion lies with enhancing the student experience and ensuring nursing students have access to quality simulation based education. Kelly has worked on incorporating Moulage (the art of applying mock injuries for training purposes) into a number of pre and post registration nursing courses to give students the opportunity to physically carry out burns management techniques and wound care dressing.

In April 2018, Kelly gained accreditation as a Registered Science Technician (RSciTech) and has been an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA) since 2017. Kelly is in the process of applying for recognition as a Registered Scientist (RSci) with the Science Council and completed a Positive Psychology in Coaching course in 2020.
